Metrotopia is a sandbox for the Phygital future. It’s a global creative industry hub for innovators in the design ecosystem. Metrotopia is an immersive urban metaverse that is designed to activate an emergent urban design process.

Our community consists of the most innovative leaders in the design, art and culture ecosystem, together with their global following, including institutions such as museums, galleries, media, schools, conferences and Biennials.

Innovation-focused entrepreneurship has critical blind spots. Complex large scale projects like buildings, districts and especially cities, have thus far been “designed in the dark” relative to contemporary life process. Prototyping for social functionality is usually achieved via guesswork, speculation and typologically-based stereotypes. Architecture’s potential to harness participatory design response to dynamically complex social event scenarios is absent.

Metrotopia goes beyond showcasing innovative designs. We offer the design ecosystem an opportunity to “sandbox” ideas in a live environment by quickly iterating versions of the design in the rich multi-player context, receiving feedback from the vibrant Metrotopia community before investing in costly production to take a design to market. This has thus far been impossible to achieve in large, complex, multi-phase projects.

Response to complex free market dynamics can’t be modeled, it has to be actuated in with real dynamic agents with the full-spectrum of interaction complexities of mixed use programs. Current metaverses actuate participatory economies via crude means.
